VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Meet the girls from "MADE by Pammy and Gurveen"

I was planning a destination wedding at Moon Palace in Cancun in January this year, when I met these two incredibly talented women, Pammy and Gurveen!

When I walked into the bride's room the evening before her first event, I heard chatter and laughter coming from inside, and I walked in to find Pammy and Gurveen working their magic on our client Sweetie! She was relaxed and really enjoying her time with them, I assumed that they must have been friends for a long long time! Later on Sweetie (my bride) told me that was actually the second time they met! The first meeting was simply to engage their services and she hadn't even done a trial with them!  This to me personifies what a wedding industry professional should make their clients feel.

I am so excited to feature them on our blog today, where they are answering a few questions, along with a few snapshots of their work!

Here's what we asked them!

1.) What trends are you seeing for Destination Wedding hair and makeup?

Softer, effortless looks are trending right now for destination weddings. Neutral eyeshadows paired with dewy/bronzy skin look amazing at events on the beach. Braids or loosely curled and pinned up hair are very popular for destination brides. Keeping the hair and makeup looks natural and relaxed are key for any beach bride!

2.) Any TIPS for Destination Wedding Brides?

We have MANY tips for destination brides but most commonly we recommend that our brides get outfits that are easy to wear and move in. If you're struggling in your outfit or sweating buckets because of the heat you won't be enjoying yourself very much. Keep it light... you can always play up any outfit with jewelry or hair/makeup!

3.)Your favourite Destination Wedding Story!

Once we had a destination wedding bride fully ready with her hair/makeup done. She was zipping up her blouse from the side and the zipper got stuck! Usually one of us can get it zipped up with some force but this time, it wouldn't budge! At this point she was minutes away from the event starting. She suggested safety pinning it but we knew it would look awkward. Luckily we had our sewing kits with us and had to sew her into her blouse! When we came back to her room after the event, we had to cut the seams to get her out of her blouse! After that lesson we won't ever be leaving our sewing kits behind. We always prepare ourselves for the worst!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with them on Sweetie's destination wedding and we look forwarding to working on many many more Destination Weddings with these two beauty queens!

5 Destination Wedding "Save the Date" Ideas

We’ve decided on a destination! We’ve decided on a resort! How do we let our guests know in a fun and exciting way that we’d love to have them attend our special day?
Gone are the days when mom and dad visited every guest’s house with mithai (indian sweets) and paper cards and invited them personally to attend the wedding. Well, mom and dad may still do that, but we want a convenient yet fun and unique way to invite our guests. Here are a few great options we found online.
1. Luggage Tags
We absolutely love the idea of Destination Wedding “Save the Dates” that let guests know they are invited to travel without them having read a word! The luggage tags are an automatic allusion to travel and they can be designed exactly the way you want them to be. Have as much, or as little detail as you want on them. Make them as elaborate or simple as you please, these luggage tags are homemade and convey the message quite beautifully!
2. The Boarding Pass

The boarding pass “Save the Date” is fun and unique to Destination Weddings because it’s an instant indicator of travel and fun! Your guests will have absolutely no doubt in their mind that there is travel involved and a unique “Save the Date” card like this is bound to elicit an overwhelming response from your guests!

3. A Passport

What’s the first thing you check when planning a trip? Your Passport! What a fun and great idea to get your guests excited about attending your destination wedding! Once again, this “Save the Date”, leaves no room for doubt in my mind, I’m going to be travelling somewhere far and exotic, and I’m going to have a fantastic time!

4. A Postcard

A postcard is a fun, travel-inspired way to let your guests know you are heading somewhere exotic to exchange your vows. They are simple and easy to design and print! Postcards hold a nostalgic and eternal feeling of the old world, when we actually used to send snail-mail. Old-world Romantics will definitely enjoy this.

5. The Fridge Magnet

The Fridge Magnet has made numerous appearances in many weddings as a “Save the Date” staple. It’s an easy reminder and it’s in a place that your guests will see it numerous times a day. (breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight snack, icrecream break etc). Our recommendation? Pick something related to the destination – there is nothing like this gorgeous picture of the sea, sun and sand, to remind them about how much fun they could be having at your beach wedding!
The bottom line is your “Save the Dates” are your first clue-in to your guests that they are going to be expected to travel to attend your special day! Make it fun and uniquely you!

Hard Rock Destination Weddings

As a certified Hard Rock WOW Weddings Specialist, the Hard Rock All Inclusive chain holds a special place in my heart. The reason for this is simple. Hard Rock understands that an Indian wedding is not a one-day event, it’s 4-6 events strung out over just as many days. For this reason, once you reach the required number of room nights, you receive unlimited private events! (1 per day, for up to 5 hours, some restrictions apply). The Hard Rock All-Inclusive collection currently has 4 resorts under this brand. The Hard Rock Cancun and Hard Rock Riviera Maya on the Caribbean side of Mexico, and the Hard Rock Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific side of Mexico. The fourth resort, which is the largest, is in Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. The Hard Rock All Inclusive brand is currently undergoing massive expansion and as the resorts get announced and opened, I will be sure to keep you updated!

The Hard Rock Wedding Collections are designed by celebrity wedding designer Colin Cowie who I had the pleasure to meet, when I attended the Wow certification training at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. The collections range for elegant and romantic, to contemporary and rock (of course the latter perfectly fitting the Hard Rock brand).
The Hard Rock Indian wedding setups are absolutely breath-taking and blend traditions with contemporary design perfectly.
The properties are true 5 star with a multitude of benefits for all your wedding guests. From kids clubs, and teens clubs for the young ones, to Karaoke bars and Club Heaven for those young at heart, Hard Rock All Inclusive has something for everyone.
Recently I planned the Destination Wedding for Joana and Iman  at the Hard Rock Cancun and they came back with nothing but amazing things to say about the resort, the staff, the food and their special day!!
